ELGIN-Visitation for James Lyttleton “Jay” Ross, 93, will be held Thursday 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Funeral service will be private. Memorials may be made to the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter, 460 Fair Street, Camden, S.C. 29020.
Mr. Ross, husband of the late Mildred M. Ross, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Born in Kershaw County, he was a son of the late Flem and Eunice Nelson Ross. He formerly owned and operated Ross Trucking, and after retiring dedicated himself to the care of his farm.
Surviving are his son, Roger Ross of Elgin; Patsy Cowart of Elgin, JoAnne Medley of Elgin and Millicent Chitwood of Charlotte, N.C.; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
