LUGOFF-Graveside service for Cecil Adell Dixon, 84, will be held Friday at 3:00 in Lando Cemetery, Lando, S.C. Rev. Donnie Dixon will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, N.C. 28204.
Mr. Dixon died Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Born in Lando, he was a son of the late Cecil L. and Maurice Roddy Dixon. He served in the United States Army during WW II and retired from DuPont. He formerly owned and operated Ye Olde Frame Shoppe in Lugoff and loved crafting wood. He was a Mason and enjoyed gardening, and bird watching.
He loved being a grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Hinnant Starnes Dixon; son, Robert L. Dixon of Lugoff; daughter and son-in-law, Michele Dixon and Scott Hunt of Monroe, N.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Dean Williams of Saluda; brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Diane Dixon of Spartanburg; and grandson, Ryan Scott Hunt. He was predeceased by a wife, Faye Lucas Dixon.
