ELGIN - A memorial service for Olie Catherine Baldwin Davis, 86, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Rev. Daniel Flessas and Rev. Phillip McCoy will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to National Alzheimer’s Foundation.
Mrs. Davis, wife of the late Owens E. Davis Sr., died Sunday, January 3, 2010. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Preston Melton Baldwin Sr. and Florrie Lee Baldwin. As a young woman she worked for Southern Bell. She was a member of Rowan Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are children, Denise Davis Greene of Lugoff, Owens E. Davis Jr. of Elgin, David D. (Dorothy) Davis of Dixie, Ga., Cathy D. (Mike) Lynch of Lugoff, Keith M. (Gail) Davis of Ridgeway, Melanie D. (Art) Boyer of Eastover; 13 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by son-in-law, Chip Greene; brothers, Preston Melton Baldwin, Jr., Robert Baldwin, Thomas Baldwin and Frederick Baldwin; and sisters, Helen Estes and Mildred Baldwin.
