About Us
Powers Funeral Home is owned and operated by Robbie and Teresa Powers. Robbie's
roots run deep in the community. He was born and raised in Kershaw County
and is a graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School. He is married to Teresa Pope
Powers and they have a daughter, Gabrielle, and a son, Robert Allen Powers, Jr.
Robbie's professional experience is extensive. He is a graduate of Gupton-Jones
College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA. He began his career with Dunbar
Funeral Home in Columbia, SC his senior year in high school and returned in 2001
to assume a funeral director's position. He was also responsible for overseeing
daily operations at Dunbar.
In addition to his work at Dunbar, Robbie also worked for McMillan-Small Funeral
Home in Myrtle Beach and Goldfinch Funeral Home in Murrels Inlet, SC. He has
gained a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge in his career that will directly
benefit the families that come to Powers Funeral Home from Kershaw County and beyond.

Region (North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama)
Teresa is also a native to the Kershaw County Community. She is a graduate of Lugoff-Elgin
High School and a graduate of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC with a B.S. degree
in Nutrition. She also completed a 12 month Nutritional Internship through the Department
of Health and Environmental Control in Columbia, SC and is a Registered Dietitian
through the American Dietetic Association. Teresa has worked in both public health
and clinical roles counseling and helping with the needs of the communities throughout
Horry, Richland and Kershaw Counties. Teresa feels that her professional and personal
experiences gained through these roles has given her the knowledge and compassion
to better serve and meet the needs of families who come to Powers Funeral Home.
Teresa is proud to be a member of New Life Christian Outreach Church in Lugoff and
also a member of the Camden Chamber of Commerce. Her future plans are to complete
a Funeral Directors Apprenticeship and obtain a Funeral Directors License. She also
plans to develop and oversee an Aftercare Program through Powers Funeral Home. Teresa,
along with her husband Robbie, is excited about this opportunity to help, support
and care for to the families they will serve.
